Why Juicing Is Not For Me

A friend of mine on Facebook responded to one of my posts about my journey back to health.

“I’d like to try a detox. I was thinking a Low sugar green juice cleanse to get started. Please let me know if you have thoughts about juice cleanses or resources I should look into. Thanks!”

What follows is my response.

I am not a fan of juicing unless it is accomplished by means of my mouth with the participation of my teeth, tongue, cheeks and salivary glands…8)

My personal belief is that we are significantly reducing the efficacy our food if it is processed in any way before it enters the mouth.

That being said I do drink the juice of a lemon, lime and orange every morning freshly squeezed into a pint glass and topped off with filtered water. So I am a partial hypocrite. However, this is part of my internal terrain cleansing routine that I have at about 8 a.m. Right in the middle of my eliminative shift used as a tool and a nutrient source. A tool that can only be accessed by juicing combined with water at that specific time. It should be precisely 12 hours after your last feeding.

[FAST]4:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon. — Eliminative = Detox and waste removal.

[FEED]12:00 Noon. to 8:00 p.m. — Alimentary = Nourishment or sustenance. Your digestive tract is also called your alimentary canal.

[FULFILL]8:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. — Assimilative = The process of absorbing nutrients beyond the tight junctions of the small intestine that enters general circulation.

This should give you a bit to chew on for now…8)

Thanks again for the questions Riley. They make for great blog posts.
