Are You High?

Maybe not…

People often associate the following with the consumption of cannabis; a positive experience.

Flushed skin, drowsiness or inability to focus, feeling disoriented or dizzy, feeling short of breath(SMOKING), being abnormally tired or exhausted.

People often associate the following with consumption of too much cannabis; a negative experience.

Unexplained feelings of confusion, abnormal feelings of paranoia or depression, abnormal muscle twitching(trembling), irregular heartbeat, hyperventilation, seizures, panic attack and passing out.

Hypercapnia (from the Greek hyper = “above” or “too much” and kapnos = “smoke”), also known as hypercarbia and CO2 retention, is a condition of abnormally elevated carbon dioxide (CO2) levels in the blood. Carbon dioxide is a gaseous product of the body’s metabolism and is normally expelled through the lungs.

Maybe our lungs are more concerned with being our body’s atmospheric carbon exchange mechanism. Maybe breathing is not as much about oxygen in as carbon out.
